Everything You Treasure Exhibition Held across the World
From October 9 to 11, 2019, Rotary District 5550, World Peace Partners, Nuclear Age Peace Foundation, SGI-Canada and other organizations with endorsement from ICAN organized a three-day Youth Nuclear Peace Summit held at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg, Canada. The Summit brought together students from 20 schools in Canada and the United States to discuss the human, environmental, economic, and political costs of nuclear weapons. As part of the program, the exhibition Everything You Treasure—For a World Free From Nuclear Weapons, created by SGI in collaboration with ICAN, was shown during the Summit. Mr. Ryan Brouwer, Youth Division Chief of SGI-Canada, delivered a presentation titled “The Power of Positive Peace,” introducing the second Soka Gakkai President Josei Toda’s Declaration Calling for the Abolition of Nuclear Weapons and SGI President Daisaku Ikeda’s 2019 Peace Proposal. The Everything You Treasure exhibition was also held at the University of Malaya in Malaysia in October, and in the following month, several thousand people joined the exhibition held in Fukuoka, Japan.
