An antinuclear weapons symposium commemorating the International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons was held in Tokyo on September 16, 2019, inviting youth and experts from various perspectives, to shed light on future endeavors toward a world free from nuclear weapons.

On June 19 and 20, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Guyana and ICAN, with the support of co-organizers including SGI, convened a Caribbean Regional Forum on the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) in Georgetown, Guyana. On May 1, a diverse group of faith-based organizations and individuals committed to a nuclear-weapon-free world presented a joint statement at the third session of the Preparatory Committee for the 2020 Review Conference of the Parties to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). On April 26, the SGI made public a statement to the third session of the Preparatory Committee for the 2020 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) to be held in New York from April 29 to May 10.
